ROLE OF PROPAGATING YORUBA CULTURE
ABSTRACT: Nigeria has three major tribes of which Yoruba is one of them. It is important to state that Yoruba as a tribe is also a language spoken by more than thirty million Nigerians. The language cuts across Nigeria to the neighboring countries like Benin republic and Sudan. The Yoruba culture is one of the most celebrated in the country and is welcoming to anyone that cares. The Yoruba culture is being propagated by its indigenes but needs more promotion; more especially for in this technological age. The radio is a medium of communication. It cuts across regions and states. In this project, we examined the role of radio in propagating the Yoruba culture. The study discovered that it is possible for the radio to help promote the Yoruba culture, also, the study highlights the various ways through which the culture can be promoted.
